For almost 50 years I have been involved in the market for historic vehicles and, along with a few others, I am one of the pioneers in this field. Over the years, my name has become one of the leading and most established dealerships worldwide. Nevertheless, our portfolio today also includes modern classics and contemporary rarities in limited editions.
Thanks to our expertise and close network in the classic car collector scene, we have built up a wide international reputation.
From 2019, I have been operating under the brand name ‘EBERHARD THIESEN Automobile Raritäten seit 1972’ at a location in the north of Hamburg. Since 2021, Bastian Hubald has been on board as a partner in our business, who has almost 20 years of experience in this field.

CLASSIC ELEGANCE, PURE SPEED. The 356 A 1500 GS Carrera is the Porsche where elegance learned to race. Originally, the elaborately constructed engine was developed by Ernst Fuhrmann for the 550 Spider. As 1500 GS Carrera it was the "civilian" road version from 1955 onwards. Its 100 hp engine has four overhead camshafts with a king shaft drive, dual ignition, light alloy cylinders and dry sump lubrication. The success of racing driver Hans Herrmann in the Carrera Panamericana endurance race in Mexico was the inspiration for the designation "Carrera". In total, only 447 examples of the 356 A 1500 GS Carrera were built. Our example from 1957 comes with sports bucket seats and red racing seat belts that emphasise the sporty character of this 356 Carrera. Around ten years ago, the car underwent a comprehensive restoration and technical overhaul by a Porsche 356 specialist. The attractive asking price is subject to deductible VAT.

TWO OF ONLY 100. Although trading extraordinary classic cars is our daily business, there are some outstanding highlights crossing our way occasionally. Recently we have two Bizzarrini GT 5300 in our showroom, of which only about 100 examples were built. One is a 1968 GT 5300 Strada in a shiny turquoise green metallic, the other one is a 1966 GT 5300 America in a classic silver metallic. Our fascination is not only evoked by the extreme flat and progressive design of Giotto Bizzarrini. In our opinion, these cars are the ultimate lifestyle machines which express the fashionable and sexy Dolce Vita of the 1960s.

WHITE ON WHEELS. White is a traditional and classic car colour and attracts in many shades and variants – from a pure clean white to nearly light-grey or ivory white. White paint finish was available on cars from the very early beginning and has been used often on motor racing vehicles. On passenger and sports cars, roadsters and convertibles white is a very elegant and timeless choice. In particular when combined with a contrasting interior or soft-top in red, blue or brown. AMERICAN PIONEER. Our new-in Cord 812 Westchester Sedan from 1937 is an exceptional US pre-war car that was way ahead of its time with innovative technology and design. Its pioneering position was built on the front-wheel drive and a semi-automatic electric four-speed pre-selector gearbox with a small shift gate in the dashboard. Another genuine feature were the folding headlights installed for the first time. The aerodynamic streamlined body design was puristic and style-defining by dispensing form of ornamentation and chrome plating. A radiator grille with its horizontal ribs running along the side of the engine cowling up to the front doors provided a progressive yet elegant look. Since 1961 this example was part of the ‘reserve stock’ of the famous French ‘Schlumpf Collection’ for over 45 years. In 2008, it was sold by the inheritors and received an extensive and faithful restoration to true to original condition. One of less than 3,000 cars built.

GERMAN TAIL FIN. Our recent new-in is a 1965 Mercedes Benz 220 SEb “tail fin” sedan (W111) in great condition, as we have rarely seen it in this category. The car comes in its attractive original colour scheme in light ivory (colour code 670) with fabric interior in white-grey herringbone pattern. With the chassis comprehensively overhauled and the engine compartment looking as good as new the car impresses from above, below and inside. A new installed automatic transmission by ZF in 2015 ensures comfortable driving characteristics. This contemporary witness to the up-and-coming 1960s with a star on the bonnet is suitable for daily use and offers classic car experience also for traveling and for the whole family. The sophisticated elegance and proven solidity of Mercedes are always on the road with you.
