OUTSTANDING SIXTEEN CYLINDER. Even after 50 years in the exclusive classic car trade, there are still new premieres. This it is the first car with a 16-cylinder engine in our portfolio – a 1931 Marmon Sixteen Type 145 Convertible Sedan. ⁣ ⁣ Established in 1902, Marmon was one of the pioneers of the American automobile industry. Marmon's V16 engine was a technical masterpiece, developed by the brands founder Howard C. Marmon. With a displacement of 8 litres, it delivered 200 hp – more power than the supercharged Mercedes cars of the 1930s. Only 390 examples were built in three years.⁣ ⁣ Our Example is a Convertible Sedan by coachbuilder Le Baron, a model of which only 11 cars are known to survive today. It has remained in a private collection in Switzerland for the last 25 years.
